The Phase 1 projects at Ethel R. Dwyer Middle School, Isaac L. Sowers Middle School, Dr. Ralph E. Hawes Elementary School and S. A. Moffett Elementary School have reached the construction documents stage. Over the summer, furniture and technology were installed in the 21st Century demonstration classrooms. The effectiveness of the new equipment will be monitored throughout the fall semester, which will include feedback from educators and students, to better identify appropriate furniture and equipment for “next generation” classroom renovations throughout the campus.
Dwyer Middle School: Additional Phase 1 work at Ethel R. Dwyer Middle School includes modernization of 32 classrooms, a new gymnasium/multipurpose building, a new STEM lab building, a new staff parking lot, site accessibility upgrades and new fencing.
Sowers Middle School: Additional Phase 1 work at Isaac L. Sowers Middle School includes a new gymnasium/multipurpose building, a new STEM lab building, site accessibility upgrades and new fencing.
Hawes Elementary School: Additional Phase 1 work at Dr. Ralph E. Hawes Elementary School includes modernization of the main building, which includes all classrooms; modernization of the portable classrooms; upgrades to the existing restrooms; site accessibility upgrades to existing parking areas and bus stops; and seismic renovations to the existing building.
Moffett Elementary School: Additional Phase 1 work at S. A. Moffett Elementary School includes modernization of the main building, which includes all classrooms and converting the library to a learning commons; modernization of portable classrooms; upgrades to existing restrooms; site accessibility upgrades to existing parking areas and bus stops; and seismic renovations to the existing building.
