21st Century Demonstration Classroom

Eader Elementary School

Project Overview

Huntington Beach City School District is committed to being a model for 21st Century education. As such, classrooms will be transformed across the District into innovative student-centered spaces that support collaboration and flexibility.

Classroom 26 (5th Grade) was designated at John H. Eader Elementary School to be renovated and serve as a learning lab. OnPoint Innovative Learning Environments and Studio W Architects engaged each of the demonstration classroom teachers to guide them through the design and functional concepts that will be integrated into their space. Once the demonstration classroom was completed in Fall 2017, OnPoint administered professional development training related to the new technology and equipment that was installed to support and administer curriculum.

The demonstration classrooms are used to elicit and gather feedback from the educators, which served as the framework for the transformation of all the classrooms across the District into innovative 21st Century learning environments, which is to be accomplished by the end of the second series of bond sales.
