Huntington Beach City School District held a Special Board Meeting on May 25, 2021. Studio W Architects provided an update on Measure Q projects and the future of Sowers Middle School was discussed. The Board and district leadership are currently exploring the viability of modernizing the existing campus or reconstructing the school utilizing modular buildings. One of the primary factors to consider in the decision making process is determining the best course of action for remediating the liquefaction issues that exist on the site.
