BCA Architects conducted a thorough review of the existing conditions at Huntington Beach City School District’s nine sites and provided recommendations for facilities improvements (both renovation and new construction) to bring the campuses in alignment with 21st Century learning and teaching methodologies. This information was used as a basis to develop the project recommendations, phasing, priorities and construction cost estimates for the Measure Q Bond Program. A presentation covering the background/purpose of the needs assessment, an overview of district-wide priorities, preliminary goals and objectives, existing campus conditions and model demonstration classrooms for 21 Century education was shared with meeting attendees at each school in October 2016.
